Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup smoked gouda cheese, grated
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta: Boil macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Add smoked gouda, cheddar, paprika, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted and smooth.
- Combine: Mix cooked macaroni with cheese sauce until well coated. Serve hot.
